"What we give attention to, grows."

On July 18, we will have our annual New Moon in Cancer. New moons are a time of new possibilities and manifestations, opening up new horizons. As the moon does not reflect the Sun's light to us, we can fully focus on our needs with our emotions in alignment. It is a time for reflection and meditation. The Moon rules Cancer, a Cardinal Water sign symbolized by the crab, which magnifies the energy. It represents emotional leadership and being in tune with the cycle of life. Like a crab, Cancer does not move in a straight line but indirectly. The moon in Cancer "feels the feelings."

And what does the sky advise about this Cancer new moon of 2023? This lunation advises us to feel the feelings and release. There is tremendous support from the universe to have faith that our spirit and soul live in a state of abundance, and that resources are plentiful for our hero's journey through this life. Our current job is to nourish the seeds that we have watered. If that means some seeds fail to flourish or are swept away in a storm, so be it.

We feel a deep ocean of oneness with all that is. Within this oneness, we can release our emotional body and trust that it will replenish what truly sustains and supports us. We need nothing in excess, nothing toxic. There is no need for FOMO (fear of missing out) or hoarding. Fear is okay because it signals that we are embracing the new; it is not a stop sign. We should not judge ourselves for being afraid of the dark or the unknown.

We have had a chance to dissect and examine what drives us and where our energy goes. And it is in that direction that we must focus. We may feel pulled in two directions, tempted to hesitate, avoid making decisions, wait for a better time, wait for permission, wait for approval, or wait to hear a yes. However, the voice we must tune into is our own because our path is unique to us. We must walk it with excitement, energy, and courage. We have the opportunity now to individuate by knowing who we are and recognizing that resources and help are available, even if not from one side, then from another.

When we close our eyes, we can truly see. Radiantly Alive!

Sabian Symbol Cancer 25: A dark shadow or mantle thrown on the shoulder. James Burgess describes this as enacting the soul's purpose. When we align worldly aims with the soul's essence-vibration, we feel as though we have been blessed by divine dispensation, experiencing the occasional rush of spiritual empowerment.

Yoga pose: Jathara Parivartanasana or Revolved Abdomen pose

Cancer rules the midsection, breasts, diaphragm, womb, lymphatic system, vagina, and stomach. The Moon rules the left eye of a yang person and the right eye of a yin person.
