Acknowledge where you’re at and allow life to be

Have you ever been in a yoga class and found yourself secretly competing with the person on the mat next to you? Pushing yourself to get your head to your knees in forward fold, or touching your heels in camel to bend back at maximum capacity even when your body is saying, ‘nope, not today’?

I can definitely say, I have observed my mind wanting to push past my body's wishes before! All because I wanted to prove that I could do something, maybe I’d feel inadequate if I didn’t get into the best pose I knew I was capable of, or I’d stay out and party because everyone else was, even though I’d prefer to be curled up in my pj’s with a good book.

Do you ever notice yourself pushing or forcing, out of this kind of inner game you play with yourself?

It’s interesting to see our motives, to observe the tendencies for competitiveness and forcefulness, seeing what is driving our actions, because when you bring light to these subtle behaviours, the spotlight is shined on them, and they lose their appeal as you see that you’re creating unnecessary suffering!

We don’t mean to do it, it’s just that we are so conditioned to achieve and hustle, that we unconsciously create a division inside of ourselves. What if, instead of pushing ourselves we simply went with the immediate flow of life as it unfolds, acknowledging where we are this instant and being okay with whatever that looks like?

If we pay attention and acknowledge life as it’s happening, it’s possible to meet and be honest with ourselves as we are, rather than escaping to what the mind thinks we or life ought to be like. And in the absence of seeking something different we might find a natural peacefulness inside.

Slow down and listen in
It’s the new hustle

If your heart space is saying leaning all the way back in camel pose today is too much, then a half bend is perfect, or even better still rest in childs pose. Even if everyone else is doing it - just do you. There is nothing you need to prove to yourself or anyone else.

If you don’t feel all love and light and positivity in a moment, that’s super cool. Spirituality isn’t a show, or competition of who's the most centered all of the time. If it requires effort, then it’s inauthentic. There’s no act you need to put on, no character to uphold. If sadness arises, let it flow, it’s just energy - you’re not broken and nothing is wrong.

You don’t live in a state of deficiency, seduced by the idea that more is always better. When you slow down and appreciate what you have, you stop obsessing over what you think you want, and melt into the long lost art of being with what you have.

It may seem counterproductive or paradoxal, but the less you force, the more life flows, and without the tension created by the mind and its constant search for improvement, you can move and live from inspired joy rather than friction. And, you may even enjoy asana in a whole new way!

Harvest Moon

Keyword: Intuition

I'm a busy little bee, I must get my work done.

I will, but now it’s time for a breath; I insist.

In my body, I feel connected to Spirit;

This I must honour,

Set aside time to merge with Source

Because abundance is all around me.

It feels so fresh, to fill my mind with peace.

What wealth, what sublime beauty!

Once I am still I can hear the fairies float by, singing.

On Sep 10th, we will have our annual Full Moon in Pisces, the Harvest Moon. Full moons are a time of completion and illumination, to reflect on where we are at in our journey. I love the symbolism of the harvest moon. At this time of year, many cultures recognise the blessings of abundance that our home planet serves us. The crops are greater than the seeds. The wealth created is greater than the labours of the farmer. In gratitude for what we have harvested, we gift some of it into the communal jar, paying it forward. The Sun is in Virgo, opposite the Moon in Pisces; this axis represents the service polarity.

Pisces, Mutable Water, is symbolised by two fish swimming opposite paths, connected with a cord. We are receptive to the infinite while the cord keeps us grounded to reality. Moment by moment (Virgo) vs infinite (Pisces), physical health vs spiritual health, organised daily routine vs swimming in dreams. We need both. This full moon reminds us to nourish our spiritual needs even as we run our everyday lives cleanly and crisply. Order is great but too much of a good thing, endless to-do lists? Not healthy. Our “connection to Spirit'' needs some “me time” too.

And what does the sky advise this Pisces full moon of 2022? This lunation is conjunct Neptune, multiplying the dream-like vibe. Sextile Uranus, the planet of abrupt change which felt so destabilising recently, now offers an opportunity: heightened intuition to emotionally navigate the change. Unusual or technological solutions are available if we look. While the urgency has smoothed out in the eye of the storm, that push to clean out and experiment with new ideas, the task at hand is to loosen the tight grip on earthly matters. We balance. We treat ourselves to a spiritual feast. We fill our well. Access the healing power of water through a long bath, a walk along the river, or listening to rain sounds as we meditate into the flow.

Extra, extra: a shout-out to Mercury here, especially as it rules the Sun in Virgo. Mercury is, unusually, standing still as it prepares to go over old ground. This means allow for malfunctions: in the car, the phone, the laptop, the calendar, deliveries, messages, in negotiations. We give ourselves permission to change our mind and it’s important we respectfully keep that communication flowing with others. Be open to fiery questions, put in the effort, stay diplomatic yet say our piece. It’s also important not to get carried away with big ideas. Another reason to get spiritually grounded (or rather, watered), as the mental energy will be zapping around, and the material world does not always follow the plan. I release into peace, because I am Radiantly Alive!

Meditation:

Commune with Spirit to harvest what is past so that seeds will have room to grow

Sabian Symbol Pisces 18:

In a gigantic tent, villagers witness a spectacular performance

"The most important thing is this: to sacrifice what you are now for what you can become tomorrow."

Keyword: Practical

Time to get back to business.

I feel my body: flexible, patient, ready.

Radiantly alive!

There are many paths to the top of the mountain;

I will detail the practical ones, make a list.

Things have been a little up and down, push and pull;

Now I focus on how I can harvest my abundance.

As I prepare, and strategise,

I will be diplomatic, when words and thoughts burn in all directions.

There is a plan, I am part of the plan, I am the plan, the plan is me.

On August 27th, we will have our annual New Moon in Virgo. New moons are a time of initiating new energy, seeding intentions, and planning our next move. The moon is not seen, darkness covers the night. Our emotions and our creative vitality are fully together. In Virgo this is a fortnight to honour the natural radiance of the earthly vessel that houses us, to plan for the turning of the season, and bring our innate vitality to practical service.

Virgo, Mutable Earth, is represented by the Lady of the Harvest, standing in the field, holding a sheaf of wheat at harvest time. The Sun in Virgo is busy, for the days are getting shorter. There is much work to be done so that her people are prepared, with plenty of grain ready for when growth takes a rest. When Virgo is at their best, they have practical solutions, and properly reward everyone who contributes energy. They are not looking for the bright lights or applause; they want to be detailed and organised, say no to unimportant wastes of time, and fix what isn’t working well.

And what does the sky advise this Virgo new moon of 2022? We understand that collaboration, cooperation and diplomacy are the tools we should use. This lunation though is being squared by Mars, the planet of action and initiative, in Gemini, the sign of strategy, exploring different options through words and ideas. The square is an aspect of friction. Pretty helpful, because we need that heat to make us move. Luckily Mercury will help us keep our thoughts and words rational, so that we can stay on our path regardless of that tension fuelling our engine.

This new moon we prepare by preparing! We’ve seen lately that some things really do need to change. It felt urgent but we had obligations, it wasn’t the right time. Now we can better identify what it is we really want. The universe is inviting us to explore and strategise practical steps we can take to get there. We might be tempted to be impulsive, to take shortcuts - or that pressure may be coming to us from others. Nervous tension crackles but we channel it, we filter. Slow and steady wins this race. Attention to detail, politely say no when we must, balanced in our words and thoughts. We also give ourselves ‘me time’, to recharge our power cells. We remind ourselves that to love the world, we have to first be joyful within ourselves. Just as we are, radiantly alive. Baby steps, with a smart strategy!

Sabian Symbol Virgo 5:

A person becoming aware of nature spirits and normally unseen spiritual energies

Yoga pose:

Standing wide-legged forward bend

“The proverb is true, that light gains make heavy purses; for light gains come often, great gains now and then”

The Spirit of You: Your Inner Child

The Spirit of You: Your Inner Child

When was the last time you looked at the world through the lens of a child’s eyes? Eyes full of wonder at life’s simple mysteries, present in each moment, captivated with curiosity, and in awe of the magic that is all around. Children are little walking light beams of love, in a constant state of bewilderment of the simplicities of life.

What happens to that natural state of bewilderment as we grow older?

Life happens. Constructs happen. We get told yes. We get told no. We quietly observe. We get told to be quiet.

On the subconscious level, we constantly pick up messages from the people and environments around us. These messages have an impact on how we perceive, interpret, and present ourselves in the world, creating an instruction manual for how we interact with daily life. Most people aren't aware this instruction manual exists, as it operates from deep within the subconscious mind, impacting the way we show up with the world, with others, and with ourselves.

Within the subconscious mind lives the spirit of your Inner Child. Your Inner Child has been absorbing information like a sponge from the people and circumstances of your environment long before you were able to fully process what was going on (mentally and emotionally). Your inner child holds emotions, memories and beliefs from the past as well as hopes and dreams for the future.

Much of our fear programming and limiting beliefs were perceived and installed from our early years of life. It is up to you to identify these fears, determine where these fears and conditionings come from, and rewrite your narrative. Writing this article, I am noticing certain doubts present: ‘Is this good enough?’ ‘Will people find it interesting?’ ‘Am I sharing too much?’ ‘Does this make sense?’ And so forth…

In my case, I understand this fear of perceived ‘failure’ to ultimately be a fear of rejection and not being loved if I don’t succeed. Knowing this, I can begin to reparent my Inner Child and choose to write a new story.

I might start a conversation with my Inner Child acknowledging these fears;

“Hello my dear Amira. I hear you. I feel you. It is okay for you to have these thoughts and fears. Maybe they served a purpose at one point, though they do not serve us anymore. There is no need to fear or doubt yourself. I love you, and I am here for you.”

Your Inner Child wants to feel safe, so how can you create a nurturing space of safety within?

I may then proceed to give myself a big hug. It’s amazing what physically hugging ourselves and sending ourselves our own warmth, love, and care can do for the soul. Anyone who has taken a yoga class with me knows I enjoy finding ways to give the self a hug and send a bit of our own lovin’ to ourselves. We often share our love with others. Don't we deserve to give ourselves the same loving care and attention?

Inner Child work doesn’t have to be all looming doom and gloom, digging up fears and parts of yourself that you have wished to ignore or even forget. It can be fun, exciting, adventurous, and playful. It’s looking at the world with fresh eyes and an open heart. It’s letting go of your past narrative, and inviting in more love, curiosity, and wonder, rediscovering the world around you.

Learning to work with your inner child is about reconnecting with the sincere, childlike part inside. It’s learning to love ALL parts of yourself fully and wholeheartedly. Fully loving, accepting, and appreciating the parts of you that have been hurt. Loving, accepting, and appreciating the parts of you that have hurt others. Loving all the parts of you you can’t really remember, and even the parts of you you wish to forget, as each emotion, feeling, and story has made you into the beautiful being you are today.

When you love yourself completely, life loves you back, and you begin to discover the essence of who you are. You discover the YOU that you are meant to share with the world, and you find joy in connecting to your curiosity and innocence, living in a state of perpetual astonishment.

So in what other ways can you nurture your childlike spirit and bring joy to your Inner Child?

Maybe this looks like enjoying your favorite ice cream cone, coloring with crayons, blowing bubbles, or just watching the clouds pass by in the sky, making stories out of the shapes you see. Maybe you listen to some of your favorite music as a kid or teen or look through the old picture book your caregiver used to read you to drift you to dreamland. The next time you go to the beach, you might like to dance with the waves and make castles in the sand, enjoying the simple sensorial pleasures of nature’s gifts, in the same way a child experiences these sensations for the first time.

Whatever is going to make your heart sing and dance (maybe you sing and dance!) you do! Connect to the childlike essence that resides within. The part of you that likes to play and get curious. Connect with nature, connect with your joy, and most importantly, connect with your heart. Fully allow yourself to be yourself. Enjoy every moment of who you are, appreciate all who you’ve been, and get excited for who you are growing to be. Give gratitude and thanks to all parts of yourself, for showing up as your magnificent self in every single moment of every single day. The world doesn’t need more of anyone else. The world needs YOU in all your authenticity.

Discover yourself, and let your Inner Child out to play!

Keyword: Knowing

I'm the lead in my own play, and I'm grateful for the role.

I observe myself, take notes to improve my performance.

It's a play without drama though,

A gentle acceptance without judgement.

What about the audience and my fellow actors and the critics?

I'm part of this group, outside that one. That's how it goes.

I put in so much work because I love doing my part in the whole,

That's my real motive.

I can lean into the long game, keep cool,

Stably flowing through the changing material world.

There's always a way.

From Aug 11th to 12th, depending on your time zone, we will have our annual Full Moon in Aquarius. Full moons are a time of completion, when the sun’s light shines from directly across the sky. The reflected light of the moon is at its brightest, showing us how we truly feel about what's happened. In Aquarius this is a fortnight to observe our feelings as if through a camera, to see what is for the greater good, to know what's working and what needs to be let go.

Aquarius, Fixed Air, is represented by the Water-bearer, who carries life-giving water to humanity. The Moon in Aquarius here can read our feelings like a map, to better understand the world around it and where the future could go. It stays anchored, coolly riding the currents of chaos, an expert surfer.

And what does the sky advise this Aquarius full moon of 2022? This lunation may feel a little rough if we don't know that this is the universe getting us ready for our new, more authentic, journey upgrade. Let's look at how to navigate these energies positively.

The secret lies in the Sun, the source of light. The trick is to feel proud of ourselves from within: cheering ourselves on, not performing for applause. Then when that light hits the moon, she brightens with understanding and vision. We see how all the pieces will fit together - or won't. We'll stay motivated to calmly put in the work. That upheaval? We keep our cool, and have the courage to act, mindfully. We observe our breath. We stay present in our bodies. The heart knows what's worth the effort.

Sabian Symbol Aquarius 20° A large white dove bearing a message.

It reminds me of the story of Noah's Ark. Firm ground is near!

Meditation: Calm in the storm through self-love

Out of Bounds Moon

Keyword: Confident

I am energised and vital, generous and creative.

In my body I feel a burst of devil-may-care flair.

Radiantly alive!

With leonine grace, I assert myself

As I prepare to make a decision.

I will be deliberate, when words and thoughts fly like lightning.

As the ground begins to shake,

I value my emotional bonds, yet tempering excess.

When the time comes, I will have the internal courage to leap.

From July 28th to 29th, depending on your time zone, we will have our annual New Moon in Leo. New moons are a time of fresh infusions of energy as we plant seeds and conceive of ideas. The Sun’s light takes centre stage, as the moon rests in darkness, allowing us a view unfettered by past emotions and embedded habits. In Leo this is a fortnight to experience radiance and vitality, to envision our inner crown, to imagine what we might create, seated on our throne.

Leo, Fixed Fire, is represented by the Lion, ruler of the kingdom. The Sun in Leo needs no introduction, as this is the Sun’s natural domain, where it confidently shines its generous light, warm and fresh, on a grateful audience and environment. When the Lion is on their best form, they take the initiative and lead the way, sprinkling their inner joy as they strut through the terrain, ambitious in work and play.

And what does the sky advise this Leo new moon of 2022? We can feel something is brewing. Pressure has built to reinvent ourselves in one area of life where we’d been craving stability. We thought we knew what we valued, and where we were valuable. Yet a slow, relentless change is occurring in what we’d all worked towards, together. Looks like we’re going to have to make some decisions soon. Ideally we see this change as evolution and liberation, rather than as a rude awakening.

This new moon we prepare by really feeling into that vitality and picture ourselves sitting on a throne, laughing generously as we confidently rule our kingdom. There’ll be a call to action, which might be quite sudden and unexpected. Tempers may flare; words may be exchanged. We, however, know to be deliberate and mindful in our words and thoughts, to channel that electric spark productively. We remember what it’s all for after all, and cherish those emotional bonds, that feeling of security, of home.

When the time comes, we’ll have the inner faith to leap forward!

Sabian Symbol Leo 6° :

An old fashioned conservative woman is confronted by an up-to-date girl

Yoga pose:

Roar like a lion!

“ Bring ideas in and entertain them royally, for one of them may be the king.

Joy Is a High Vibration

Joy is a high vibration

Our greatest gift is to become the change that we want to see in the world. Our journey starts from deep within each one of us. We create change when we focus on what we love doing the most. It gives us joy and that joy flows over onto all those who we come into contact with. The more joy we have in our lives, the more we touch others and inspire them to be the change that they want to see in the world too. Joy opens our hearts and minds and connects us more deeply to everything around us. Joy is a high vibration. And it doesn’t matter what we do as long as we love doing it.

There is a saying how we think and feel influences everything in the world around us. It’s so true. Remember a time when we felt fearful and angry and how those around us were affected by our mood. Their faces changed right before our eyes and that somehow made us feel a bit better because we no longer felt alone in our suffering. Or we might have been that person who got pulled down by another and felt righteous about it because we were able to meet them where they were. We thought we were helping them. But our vibrational state dropped to their level instead of them rising up to ours. This is what we do when we sympathize. Sympathizing is when we jump down into the pit and join the person there instead of helping them come out.

Now how about if we were able to empathize instead causing a shift in the opposite direction to occur. When we are no longer enslaved by our emotions, no matter how negative a person we meet may be, instead of being influenced by them negatively, they are influenced by us positively. And when we find ourselves caught in a loop in the same way, we attract others who can help lift us out too. As part of our daily practice we can teach ourselves to become more empathetic by consciously increasing the vibrational levels within ourselves first. And then we can notice how those around us respond to what we’re putting out. A powerful way of doing this is by smiling with our whole body until we feel a shift happening inside us. It’s important to feel the smile rising up from within. Something happens. We discover that what we put out gets reflected back to us. Hence why we want to make it a daily practice so we can clearly recognize how our inner states truly influence everything around us.

On the emotional scale joy dominates the top rung of the ladder

It sits in the same seat alongside appreciation, empowerment, freedom and love. At the opposite end of the scale is fear. Fear can be an extremely uncomfortable emotion to be with. It lives together with grief, despair, paranoia and powerlessness. In between the two polarities are many different emotions that inspire us to reach for higher states of being. On the contrary, if we get caught up in them, we can find ourselves spiraling deeper into discomfort instead. As we learn to feel our emotions by listening deeply to the wisdom that transpires through them, the inner tensions soften and unwind and we find ourselves moving back up the emotional scale again. The felt sense is the doorway through which we can climb up that ladder. Without establishing a connection to it we can easily remain stuck in our emotions. Or simply be oblivious of them.

Our emotions are always moving up and down. They provide us with the contrast needed to grow and evolve. If we were happy all the time, in no time we’d be bored. If we were always sad, we’d end up feeling depressed. Contrast frees us from monotony and allows us to move back up the emotional scale again where we can reach higher apexes before falling back down again. Life is an endless cycle of expansion and contraction. Without the contraction we cannot expand any further. And just like a tree our branches cannot reach higher and cannot bear more fruit unless the roots grow deeper into the earth. Our life experiences regulate our growth and help us to evolve. When we go through painful times we always come out the other end a little bit wiser than we were before.

And whenever we might have missed the opportunity it’s really not a problem, as life will send another person or provide another situation for us to learn it again. We always get as many chances as we need. Always be grateful for what we attract. There’s a valuable lesson in it for us. Cherish our feelings as beloved teachers. Intend to feel. And listen deeply. Let that be our daily practice. Smile, practice gratitude and do what we love doing the most.

Full Buck Supermoon, the biggest and brightest of the year

Keyword: Expediency

I trust within and parent myself, calm and brave.

In my body I feel what really matters to me.

I have a schedule, and it makes room for playtime :-)

With graceful agility I navigate change

As hidden structures and secrets are revealed

I slowly pivot towards a new horizon

Inspired by go-getting optimism,

I have faith in a fresh start.

It’ll be worth it.

From July 13th to 14th, depending on your time zone, we will have our annual Full Moon in Capricorn.  Full moons are a time of illumination when the sun’s light gazes from directly across the sky. The reflected light of the moon takes center stage, allowing us to see ourselves. In Capricorn this is a fortnight to trust within, to nurture our inner parent, our inner authority, to feel the emotional strength flow through our physical bodies while overthinking and flowery words take a back seat.

Capricorn, Cardinal Earth, is represented by the nimble sea-goat. The Moon is the planet of emotional security, the lens through which we see the past, how we de-stress. The Moon here loves a goal and is creative, flowing through deep oceans and up rocky mountains. It plots a course through the ebbs and flows of everyday life, elegantly upwards.

And what does the sky advise this Capricorn full moon of 2022? We’ve been hearing a siren song, calling us to change with the changing times, to be brave, be pro-active. Sure, maybe we’ve felt a little uncertain, maybe we didn’t want to be impulsive. Maybe as kids we had to follow certain rules, be a certain way. Now’s the time to give ourselves that “you got this!” hug. Have faith in ourselves. When we look around, well hey, we’ve actually got some nice options. Let’s pick one or two and explore. As things play out, we’ll soon find out which way the wind is blowing.

We give ourselves permission to pivot!

Sabian Symbol Capricorn 22° A general accepting defeat gracefully

Yoga pose: relax into restriction to flow up the mountain.

Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference. ”

The Joy Of Getting Lost

The Joy Of Getting Lost

When was the last time you felt utterly lost? And maybe you find a few different scenarios in your mind, such as getting lost on a trail in the forest, or perhaps in a new city, maybe it was in a relationship you just couldn’t figure out, or perhaps it was in some yoga class you knew was good but somehow it just didn’t make you feel right?

There are so many ways that we can get lost and perhaps that is scary, confronting, and challenging? But what if it wasn’t? What if getting lost was exactly the thing that needed to happen for you to experience something so out of the ordinary that it made you come closer to yourself more than ever before?

What if getting lost in the forest took you to a place you would have never been to before? What if that place held some deep resonance and peaceful calm that made you stop and simply breathe it all in?

What if you got really confused by the directions you were given in this vast city you just got to, and finally end up somewhere very unexpected, perhaps meeting people that you never would have met otherwise, and it took you on a journey of unexpected turns into a deeper experience of the pulse of the city?

What if that confusion and sense of feeling lost in a relationship was exactly the spark you needed to change it all for the better? Did you feel trapped and needed to break free? Did you find a strange answer to a question you didn’t know existed and thus could bring this up with your partner for more clarity and purpose? What if getting lost in this relationship was exactly the thing that made you find yourself more?

And how about that class you went to where it just didn’t make sense? This internal struggle, this shallow breath, this weird teacher in the front talking about ‘softening, spiralling, anchoring sitting bones and hearts, mobility this, mobility that, joint intelligence, and so on’ (yes, I am referring to myself here) and then beyond the confusion, deeper within your breath, in the midst of getting lost, you found a sense of belonging, of a moment of peace, a moment of connection, a soft strength, a deeper intelligence, and that’s what suddenly made sense.

Getting lost is a wonderful thing, come to think of it. We begin to see with our eyes behind our eyes, the nuances behind the layers, the adventure behind the corner we never really see but is always there, the softening and letting go of control, the leaning back into the rivers to be taken on a ride without resistance. Getting lost is essential to our growth as individuals.

This is no different from your practice, whatever that may be. The dedication and decision you made to go there, on your mat, at the gym, in the park, in your meditation seat, is an invitation to let go, drift back, and get lost within. These moments are so immensely precious because it all just brings us closer to ourselves in the most unexpected ways. I had a moment like this quite recently, as I was filming a class, and while it was a very active and direct class, I had one moment where I shared a breathing technique and had a pause in-between, I got so lost within myself I lost track of time and forgot that I was recording, I think it might have taken a few minutes before I came back and kept going. So if you see me in an online class where I become quiet for a long time, I was probably joyfully getting lost within myself.

But maybe the strangest thing about getting lost is that we grasp for control and direction so much, it’s not the getting lost that is the scary part, it’s the resistance towards it that makes it difficult. At some point a sense of acceptance of being lost soothes us, relaxes your breath, unclenches your jaw, and all that resistance drifts away. We are home, we are safe, we are joyfully lost and all is well. From this place, like within the eye of the storm, we might find some clarity and perspective, a soft silence inside of us, a gentleness of the spine, a supple sensation of calm, of expansion, of belonging.

This is the joy of getting lost. When we trust in that deeper intelligence, that we are strong and resilient, that when we let it, we are not just floating down the river, we become the river, and the river becomes us. Enjoy getting lost in all the ways that present itself, make peace with the control and resistance you let go of, and welcome the magic that unfolds because of it.

Thank you for reading, and feel free to share below if this resonates with you! I’d love to hear your perspective!

Joyfully lost,

Chris

New Moon in Cancer | June 28 - 29

New Moon in Cancer | 28-29th June | 11:52 AM | Bali Time

Gemini Mantra: I feel

Element: Water

Quality: Leader

Ruling Planet: Moon

And it´s time to go home!

On June 28th or 29th, depending on where in the world you are, we will have the New Moon in Cancer. A call to return to our home, to our roots. A period of two weeks to return to our home, to connect with our inner mother. Remember that the planet that rules Cancer sign is the Moon, it represents the Mother, so this new moon is a perfect time to become our own mother and to nurture ourselves on a mental, spiritual and physical level.

Let's remember what the energy of the sign Cancer is like to understand this New Moon. Cancer is a water element sign of cardinal quality, that means it is a leading sign, which marks the beginning of a new season, the Summer Solstice. Cancer is the energy of origins, a very protective sign that provides security to those who approach them.  It represents the world of emotions. They are souls in great need of physical security, very intuitive, empathic and above all cyclical people. Their ruler is the Moon, which is why they are usually the sign of emotion, the most fickle of the zodiac, with a very deep and spiritual meaning. This sign comes to teach us the importance of recognizing our feminine power: intuition, empathy and vulnerability.

Now that you know more about the energy of the Cancer sign, I can explain what this lunar event is going to be about. Remember that once a month the sun and the moon align in the same mathematical degree generating the New Moon, a very special moment of the month. It is a period of new beginnings, a time to look forward. When we have more clarity in our minds to know what we really desire.  Perfect to sow a new seed, renew your intentions and express your wishes to the Universe.

When the New Moon is influenced by the energy of Cancer, it’s a perfect time to return home not only physically but also internally.

This New Moon in Cancer bring us:

  • Time to heal childhood wounds

  • Nourish yourself, take care of yourself and be your own mother

  • Time to take charge of your emotional security

  • Balance your feminine and masculine energy

  • Time to accept all your emotional needs

  • A perfect time to integrate our inner child

I share to you some tips for this New Moon Manifestation:

  • Have contact with bodies of water, if you can go to the sea

  • Allow yourself to feel without judging your emotions

  • FEEL, FEEL, FEEL

  • Do activities that connect you with your potential healer

  • Practice the art of letting go

  • Do activities alone

  • Take care of your body

  • Nourish yourself

The best advice I can give you for this New Moon in Cancer is to nourish yourself, allow yourself to heal, to feel and to integrate all your emotions. Remember you can’t take care of others, if you don’t take care of yourself.

Remember Feeling without judging your emotions is your super power!

Happy New Moon in Cancer!

With Love

Going Beyond Asana | 12 Simple Ways To Live Yoga Off The Mat

Going Beyond Asana | 12 Simple Ways To Live Yoga Off The Mat

“The idea of a yoga practice is really not just to focus and be aware and mindful and calm for the time that we’re on the mat, but to carry this state of being with us when we leave class” - Bhagavad gita

Take your yoga off your mat. You hear this a lot in yoga class, but what does it really mean?

In the spirit of International Yoga Day, we thought it would be inspiring to look into the real purpose of yoga, going beyond asana, and embracing yoga as a way of life.

To put it simply - Yoga is not just something we ‘do’ - it’s something we live.

Yoga is how we eat, speak, and breathe. How we meet what shows up on our path. How we talk to the person serving us at the grocery store, a taxi driver, or a family member. It’s extending compassion to the seemingly rude other who appears to be having stress in their day. It’s expressing kindness to ourselves when a dark thought shows up, or things don’t go as we had planned.

The practice of Yoga is about more than enjoying the euphoric or zen feels we have after sixty minutes in our favorite class, the journey of becoming a teacher or celebrating the progress we’ve made with our headstands. It’s about extending our practice in our daily lives and increasing our awareness and sensitivity to life in all its shades.

If you’ve been practicing yoga for a while, you’ll know that Yoga calls us to look at ourselves very deeply, and focus our awareness inwards, transforming our world from the inside out.

Yoga reminds us to constantly check in with ourselves. To practice self awareness and self inquiry. It is an invitation to still the mind enough, to trust the body, and surrender to life, to our purpose - our dharma.

So how do you take your practice off the mat and into your daily living?

Here are twelve simple yogic principles to tuck in your back pocket, and apply to your life to truly live your yoga off the mat…

  1. Begin the day brand new (savasana)

On the mat, Yoga teaches us Savasana is our time to restart. In everyday living we learn that each morning is a new beginning. Wake up remembering it is a new day and another chance for opportunity, no longer looking behind and dwelling on the past.

  2. Practice gratitude (pranamasana)

The moment your eyes flutter open in the morning, bring your hands in Pranamasana (prayer hands in front of your heart) and give a prayer of gratitude for anything! Whatever comes to mind (your breath, your family, the fact that you woke up). Just sincerely give recognition and gratitude for your blessings and try to touch in with that heart space throughout your day.

  3. Begin your day by setting a sacred intention (sankalpa)

Before your feet even hit the floor, set an intention. A good way to do this is to ask your body and mind what it needs. At the end of the day, what will your body and mind thank you for?

Set your intention right when you wake up when your mind has not yet been bombarded with the to-do lists for the day. Use it throughout the day if you feel any chaos or overwhelm arising.

  4. Express compassion (ahimsa – non-violence)

Always start with yourself. Yoga is about honoring your body and learning to accept and love where you are right now. Why not take some of this compassion off the mat into your daily activities?

What does being kind to yourself look like? Stopping to check in with yourself before you say yes. Doing things that bring you joy. Practicing non-judgement: Turn off the inner critique! Whether it’s judging you or others. Learn to accept yourself and others as you are, and admire our apparent quirks and differences. If everyone were exactly like us, the world would be very one dimensional!

  5. Go with the Flow (isvara pranidhana)

Yoga teaches us to simply allow. Remember times during your practice when painful sensations arise, physical or emotional. We welcome these feelings and let them be present without judging, then let them pass. We learn that in life we must allow. We do not have control over other people, or other situations- and the sooner we stop fighting for control and relax into the experience, it will pass.

  6.  Breathe! (pranayama)

As you learn the breathing techniques to help support and guide you through difficult poses, take this same concept out into the world with you. When you encounter a stressful situation, or uncomfortable sensations (fear, anger, sadness, and so on) arise, instead of trying to run away from them (you know how you feel sometimes in chair pose), take a deep breath, smile, and let the calming effects of your breathing carry you through the situation.

Breathing takes us from fight, flight, or freeze - the sympathetic nervous system, to the parasympathetic nervous system - that promotes relaxation. Just like on the yoga mat, as you breathe into the sensations, they relax and change. Don’t underestimate the power of your breath. Your life literally depends on it.

  7. Fuel your body with high vibrational food (saucha – purity)

Just like breath is our life force, food is our energy. Food has the ability to nourish or deplete us. Strengthen the body, or weaken it. What we put into our bodies often influences other decisions we make, so it’s important to honor the earthly vessel. You only get one body!

  8. Keep your space organized (aparigraha – non-possessiveness)
Clutter creates chaos. A messy outer world often means a cluttered and messy inner world. Plus, we function at a higher level when our space is clean and workable.

Empty your drawers, and re-organize them. Clean up your home room by room and let go of what no longer brings you joy or serves you. That sweater you haven’t worn in 3 years? Toss it. When making a new purchase, ask yourself if you really need it! Marie Kondo your space and see how peaceful you feel inside and out!

  9. Be truthful (Satya)

Being truthful is something appreciated by everyone, and helps build trusting relationships. A tool to practice cultivating truthfulness is to observe our actions and see if they’re coming from a place of joy, love and service or if we are doing something because of a need to prove or gain something!

  10. Study Yourself (svadhyaya)

As you go throughout your day, if you find yourself being reactive and emotional, take a step back, a pause, a breath, and look at what is arising. Ask yourself what are you reacting to? How can you respond to this as opposed to reacting to it? This is an incredibly powerful shift!

  11. Be where you are (dharana)

With so many distractions pulling our attention this way and that, it can feel difficult to be ‘fully here’. A simple way to cut through distraction, is to become more aware in interactions: When you are talking with someone, try being completely focused on the person and the conversation. Forget about what you have to do next or the stressful meeting you just came from and give your full attention. See how good it feels to be fully in the moment and how those on the receiving end respond to this.

  12. Be of service (karma yoga)

Weave kindness and compassion into your daily life, whether it’s being kind to yourself by resting when you need it, bringing a neighbor’s trash can in, or donating your time. The choices are endless and it feels so enlivening to be of service to others.

Time to Speak Your Truth, Super Moon In Sagittarius

Super Full Moon in Sagittarius | June 14th | 12:52 AM | Bali Time

Sagittarius Mantra: I see

Element: Fire

Quality: Mutable

Ruling Planet: Jupiter

I do not own the absolute truth, but I do own the truth in my heart.

Ready to look up! In the evening of Tuesday, June 14, depending on what part of the world you’re in, a Full Strawberry Moon rises above the horizon. This is the second SuperMoon of 2022!

When a Full Moon is at a distance of at least 90% of perigee (the point at which the Moon is closest to the Earth), it is called a SuperMoon.

This moon is the last Full Moon of spring and the first of the summer and that’s why it has traditionally been called the Strawberry Moon.

Remember that a Full Moon occurs when the sun and the moon are in opposition. A moment in which the Universe gives us more clarity about things or situations. This Full Moon will be influenced by the energy of the Sagittarius sign, the truth seeker.

Sagittarius is the last sign of fire - wise, dynamic, optimistic, adventurous, the great seeker and traveler with a hunger for life. An idealistic soul who has a great bow pointed towards the stars. Their instinct for adventure and expansion is limitless, they are passionate, adaptable and very curious beings.

Sagittarius are like encyclopedias just like their opposite sign Gemini, the difference between them is that Sagittarius souls need to experiment and question everything they learn. They are not satisfied with what they listen to, they will always seek to draw their own conclusions.

Now that we know what Sagittarian energy is like, we can understand that this Full Moon we will have a lot of information circulating. Remember that the ruler of Sagittarius is Jupiter, the planet of expansion and now it is influenced by the energy of Aries, another sign of fire. This means we can feel that things that we want to communicate begin to flow faster. It’s time to really understand what you need.

There are two important aspects in this lunar event, Neptune the planet of illusion and Saturn the planet of reality will be giving us an insightful glimpse into what really is.

What does this mean?  That Saturn (reality) will help us to see clearly many things that are only an illusion in our lives.

  • Revelation of secrets

  • Disappointments with teachers

  • Observe when you make decisions out of ignorance

  • Evaluate and prioritize the time you give to people, situations, things, or to study

It's a time to reflect:

How much time do you spend in your head?

How much time do you spend on things that no longer identify you?

What are you giving value and authority to?

(be honest with yourself)

Once you reflect about this. Take advantage of the energy of this Super Full Moon and write on a paper all those thoughts that no longer identify with you and burn them. Remember it’s time to let go. Stop spending so much time in your head. Don’t get stuck!

It’s time to aim your arrow to the stars and communicate your truth to the world!

Happy Full Moon in Sagittarius!

Being lived by LIFE | Is your PURPOSE in the unfolding?

Being lived by LIFE | Is your PURPOSE in the unfolding?

We are conditioned to the idea of becoming. Constantly bombarded with the age old question from school… “What do you wanna be when you grow up?”

But what if there is no purpose for us to choose out of the lucky dip of job titles or societal roles, nothing to decide upon, or make into a sense of who we are.

What if who you are is your purpose? What if the joy of what you are intuitively pulled towards is your purpose?

What if there is no ‘you’ separate from life deciding, and being lived by life is your purpose. Being authentically you, flowing in the directions of whatever spontaneously tugs at your heart, for no logical reason, no end goal, no motive, other than it’s how life is appearing to express itself through the vessel that you call you.

Just like a flower that blooms doesn’t know how it will change as its petals unfurl and blossom, or a river that flows has no idea of where it is traveling. Perhaps life really is this constant flow, one big show of spontaneous living.

The sweet rose cannot smell its own perfume - and so maybe living intuitively allows us to express our unique beauty too. You could then say that the purpose of life is YOU.

So how does one live intuitively, abandoning the narrative of how we think we should live, and instead be led by the intelligence of our hearts?

In my experience, living intuitively is a journey of releasing all that you know, and allowing your deeper, inner knowing to lead you (even if it makes no sense in your head)!

What makes you feel most alive?

  • What are you naturally pulled towards?

  • What things peak your interest? - Is it words, music, painting, yoga, martial arts, cooking, mountain climbing, technology, poetry, carpentry, flowers, planting veggies, building things, making spaces beautiful, fashion, sewing, teaching, working with your hands… there are endless possibilities that stir something in the heart!

When we notice what we love, and follow those inspirations without a set end goal. We drop the pressure of needing to have life all mapped out, and embrace each moment - allowing life to move us, meeting us with people, places and things to support and grow us along the way.

Your inner wisdom may guide you to make decisions that scare you, to let go of something you dearly love, to step outside your comfort zone, or to walk a path that is brand new. It will show you this journey one step at a time…calling us to live inspired!

I love this living quote - and think it perfectly summarizes intuitively living your purpose:

Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase. — Martin Luther King, Jr.

Yes, at times it can be scary, but if you want to get clear on what is truly right for you, feel supported, and live a life that feels deeply fulfilling and in alignment with the joy of simply being you, you must be listening to your intuition.

Our ability to live this way is directly related to our willingness to surrender, release an imagined sense of control and embrace the unknown.

Hearing your intuition - Here are some things you can reflect + journal on:

  • What inspirations have you been receiving that you haven’t yet acted upon?

  • What themes have been showing up in your outer reality? - It could be an advert for a dance class you’re inspired to try, a friend expressing that you’d be really good at XYZ.

  • What activities / skills would you really love to try, practice, or hone?

Living intuitively requires us to surrender, to release ‘our plan’, and what we think is right for us, so that we can instead be still, open up and listen. The mind may try to form conclusions and make sense of these intuitive nudges. Try to not do this, but rather stay very open, trust the process and allow the path to appear in its own time.

It’s all in a single step - moving with life, agenda free!

I know, we have been taught to plan things out, to have a set end goal, to create a sense of security, to know exactly where we are going, but living intuitively means to be swept by the adventure of living, following your inner guidance moment by moment, even if you have no idea where it is taking you!

Following your inner guidance may bring up discomfort, fear and resistance, and this is totally ok! Let yourself feel it and move through it, but don’t let it stop you.

How do you feel about following your intuition even when it makes no sense? Have you previously (or perhaps currently) followed your inner wisdom beyond logic? I’d love to hear your stories in the comments :)

Much love,

Jemma xo

New Moon in Gemini | Monday, May 30th

New Moon in Gemini | May 30th | 19:30 PM | Bali Time

Gemini Mantra: I communicate

Element: Air

Quality: Mutable

Ruling Planet: Mercury

Are you ready to receive messages from the Universe?

The event that I was waiting for so much, arrived! The new moon in Gemini. It's time to speak our truth. Even if we are still in Mercury Retrograde, this event brings many aspects that motivate us to move forward.

But first, let's talk about what happens at a New Moon. Once a month the sun and the moon align in the same mathematical degree generating the New Moon, a very special moment of the month. It is a period of new beginnings, a time to look forward. When we have more clarity in our minds to know what we really desire.  Perfect to sow a new seed, renew your intentions and express your wishes to the Universe.

This New Moon is ruled by the sign of Gemini, the God Hermes, who comes to give messages to the world. Gemini is a mutable air element sign. His mission is to teach the world the importance of communicating and reconciling ourselves with our duality. To observe if we are listening well and if we are understanding the message we receive. Gemini has an eye on knowledge and creativity. He is one of the funniest signs of the zodiac, the eternal child, they like changes and it is difficult for them to follow a routine. Gemini came to teach us the importance of being and doing different things every day. He is the sign of multiple personalities and talents.

This New Moon occurs in the 9th degree of Gemini, observe where this degree is located in your Natal Chart to see in which area of your life one cycle ends to start another. Despite the Mercury retrograde,, this event gives us a lot of clarity to close stages and see things from a new perspective.

This New Moon in Gemini will bring us:

  • Help to start new projects or make a launch.

  • The ability to seek and apply new ways of thinking.

  • Possibility of feeling very distracted.

  • Conversations, meetings, calls and connections that have a quick start.

  • The opportunity to change our narrative.

  • The desire to speak our truth.

Here are some tips for this New Moon Manifestation:

  • Begin to communicate assertively.

  • Be communicative: See how you’re communicating with the people you love.

  • Meditate: Reflect on your state of mind.

  • Relax your mind.

  • Socialize, go and hang out with your friends.

  • Spend time with your brothers or sisters.

  • Use your voice: Sing, Sing, Sing

The best advice I can give you for this New Moon in Gemini, my sign, is to turn down the volume in your mind and observe that the intentions you ask to the Universe really come from the heart.  Give your voice permission to express what you really want.

I share this playlist with you to sing on this New Moon.

It is time to send clear messages to the Universe!

Happy New Moon in Gemini!

With Love

Full Moon In Scorpio | Monday, May 16

Full Moon in Scorpio | May 15th - 16th | 12:13 PM | Bali Time

Scorpio Mantra: I release

Element: Water

Quality: Fix

Ruling Planet: Pluto

"I can let go, and I can embrace change with an open heart."

The first half of May has arrived with one of the most emotional events of the month, the Total Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio, also known as a “Blood Moon”.  It will take place on the 15 – 16th of May depending on where you are.

First, I want to remind you what happens when there is a Full Moon, it is an event that tells us about endings, about letting go of something that no longer works, that does not make us evolve, it is a time to practice forgiveness and gratitude. The special thing about this Full Moon is that we will have a Total Eclipse. It occurs when a Full Moon passes through the Earth’s shadow in space. On an emotional level this means that what we release or close will be completely removed from our lives. Lunar eclipses are more emotional. And if we add that it occurs under the energy of Scorpio, it already tells us that it will be an event with great intensity. To understand this, we have to remember what the  energy of Scorpio is like.

Scorpio is a water element sign, emotional and fixed modality. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, god of the underworld and all things connected to the occult. It is the most misunderstood and mysterious sign of the zodiac. Secretive by nature, this sign brings us to shadowy and hidden places that we don't usually have the  courage to face. The sign of life, death, and resurrection, Scorpio energy embraces these life’s cycles and continually transforms and reinvents itself.

This Total Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio, tells us that something is coming to light. Something that makes us feel uncomfortable.  We drop the blindfold to realize that what we retain hurts us. It is time to realize that we continue to hold something that has already completed its cycle and we do not let it go out of fear. Lunar eclipses make us let go of toxic patterns of codependency and lack of boundaries. The unconscious becomes conscious, what we did not want to see, we see. There is no turning back!

I share with you some tips to go through these changes in a more loving and friendly way:

  • Flow with the slow rhythm of nature

  • Do activities that connect you with your potential healer

  • Meditate, Meditate, Meditate

  • Set goals that you are passionate about

  • Practice the art of trust

  • Connect with Gratitude

  • Learn to give yourself containment and calm, despite what happens outside

  • Open yourself to receive and let go of fears

  • Wear colored clothes

Stop and pause from time to time. There is no rush for your transformation process. The reminder is to understand that we cannot control anything.

Remember, this Full Moon reminds us that it is a time to take responsibility for our own process of change.

I wish that this Full Moon will be very kind to you and to those around you!

Happy and transformative detachment!

With Love

I Hope I Don't Fall

Oh, I Hope I Don’t Fall!

Falling in love, falling out of love, falling from grace, falling into bad habits, falling out of favour, falling into negative thoughts - we’ve all been there, and we will most likely end up there again and again.

The fall is one of the most natural experiences for us human beings to have, and it happens to us all. As above, so below. For us to rise, we must fall. When we fall, we rise again. This is a very natural occurrence in nature as well. The moon and the sun, the tides, come rain come shine, cut something down and it will grow back. At its center, we find balance. As a dance with equilibrium.

The way that we human beings approach it though, will be with hesitancy and resistance. Maybe less so with the falling in love part, but for some people that might be truly scary as well. The point is this, we take falling as a massive failure, as if we aren’t worthy, as if we don’t deserve it. But much like the saying ‘we are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars,’ when we rise from the fall, not only is it a testament to our own strength, but it inspires others to rise as well. Hardship will come to us all in many forms, many intensities, and the more we endure and rise above, we grow stronger and wiser with time.

Therefore, let the fall be a teacher. A way for you to listen with more attention and awareness, and thus building more experience. It can be in the simplest form - a balancing asana pose. You lose balance and fall out, but you didn’t fail, you learned something new. You found an edge. Try again, find that edge, see and feel what is there. Ah, balance found a way, and you find a new edge, and then the fall. Try again. It is right there, in the simplest ways, a way of listening and learning.

Love is not so much different. We fall in love, we grow, we argue, we make up, we find new depth and grow more, we find dissonance and it might persist until we decide to part ways. The balance was always being danced around and for some time it is there, and for some it changes. It’s not a failure, it ran its course. As long as we feel that we did our best for the sake of growth, we didn’t fail. There is no such thing as a failed relationship, we either grow together or we grow apart. And that is always a beautiful thing.

When it comes to bad habits, let’s be honest, we all have them. Some are quite minuscule and others might be more serious, and it’s not inherently bad if we slip up sometimes. Once again, we might have to go there to realise that, instead of trying to avoid it. If these bad habits causes you to miss a day at the gym or have that delicious dessert a bit more often, let it be so. Laugh about it, let it go, move on. If it’s a more serious habit that causes harm, perhaps sharing this with a trusted friend to find support, and let yourself be held and accountable to rise above it as well. By the way, that goes for the extra pint of ice cream too, you can totally have an accountability pal for that.

Have you ever fallen out of favour with a friend? Something that happened that caused you to drift apart? Let the fall be a reflection of what happened, and if you feel that you did something out of integrity or if you feel that you did everything you could to honour your integrity? Maybe one day you will meet and rise above the situation and enhance your friendship, maybe it wasn’t a good friendship to begin with?

Maybe you are prone to falling into negative thought patterns? Does it feel like a labyrinth in your mind which is hard to get out of? I feel you, this is not an uncommon thing. First off, it’s ok to have these thought patterns. It shows that you care, that you feel, and that you are aware of your inner surroundings and outer surroundings. There is strength in that. Secondly, it doesn’t take a lot for it to change, this is the most important part. And this goes for everything above as well.

Let the fall be a way for your to gain new perspective, to let go of the things you were clinging on to, to make peace with what wasn’t for you. Let the fall be a place of new insight and clarity. Let the fall be a gift that shows you that you did not settle, you did not get compliant, you did not give up. Instead, let the fall be a testament to how you stand back up when you’re down on your knees, how you brush yourself off and try again, how you continuously rise above each time.

If you have a story of falling - in love, out of love, from grace, into negative patterns - or anything else, I’d love to read it, let’s inspire each other by acknowledging that we fall all the time, and that together we can rise again.

Free Your Feet

Free Your Feet - A Yearning of Balance

I have a strange but important question for you - how well do you know your feet?

Our relationship to our feet is wildly important, I can’t stress it enough. And hopefully by the end of this article you will look at your feet differently and become more curious about how much more connected you can feel with some simple things that you can do on a daily basis.

First of all, I want to give you some food for thought. What if using shoes all the time (walking, dancing, running, jumping, playing) is an equivalent of texting on a smart phone with mittens on? Curious, right?

Your feet are incredible, and they are strong, they are the first point of connection to the ground, and they communicate so intelligently with the rest of your body. And so when we cover them up with shoes that are - most often - tight, cram our toes together, soft and padded especially for the sole - we lose a lot of connection to our feet and their use. In the long run, this can cause problems that are easily avoided by simply wearing shoes less often - or at least trade them for minimalist shoes.

So here are some cool things you can do to gain a stronger connection to your feet and toes that will help your body become way smarter!

  • Wiggle your toes! Both freely but also with control. Can you lift only your big toe up high while standing or sitting down? Give it a try right now. Be patient with yourself, and keep trying. Even if it’s easy, keep doing it every day, maybe for just a few seconds here and there.

  • Rotate your ankles in a large circle (also known as CARs - Controlled Articular Rotations) and the more you exaggerate the circle, the more tensile strength you are using and thus stimulating your ankle to grow stronger and gain more range of motion.

  • Walk barefoot on various surfaces. Try both soft and rough environments, but take it slow. Resilience and sensitivity builds up with time. A great addition is to use a ball, the more dense it is, the more intense it gets, so start with a soft ball and work your way up. Self-massaging the connective tissue under your foot in a slow and soft way is great to feel more spacious, and it works both as a warm-up and a cool-down.

  • Sit kneeling with your toes tucked! This can get intense, so let it take time. Start with a few seconds every day, close down your eyes and take soft breaths. Let this position become comfortable, your toes will thank you for it!

  •  Squat a lot! Get close to the ground, get that ankle mobility, move around in a squat. Doesn’t matter if your heels lift, or if you need to put your hands down for support, the more you play with shapes closer to the floor, your body will slowly but surely adapt to get more comfortable here.

  • Setting The Sails. This concept is great for a deeper connection from your feet all the way up along your body. Stand with your feet hip width apart, turn your toes in slightly, now soften your knees and let your knees gently go wider, notice how the inner arch of your foot lifts - the weight is on the pinky moon of your foot now - and softly anchor your sitting bones back. This might feel strange in the beginning, but after some time, even walking will have you gravitate towards weight on the pinky moon of the feet and thus feel more springy and connected.

By doing this to begin with, there are some really great benefits that come with it!

You will feel everything more, increase awareness, balance, and sensitivity and your feet will become stronger and more resilient.

Your feet don’t need support - they are the support! They don’t need protection, they need exposure to adapt and build awareness. With 26 bones and 33 joints in your feet, making use of them just makes them better. So kick off your shoes when you go to the gym, don’t worry about the strange looks of other people, it’ll happen! Try dancing without shoes, run on grass or sand, walk in nature where there is diversity of surfaces.

Now obviously, your environment dictates how accessible it is to be barefoot, and so minimalist shoes is a great option for cold weather and city life. This will still give you more freedom for your feet to become more connected and free.

Do you look at your feet differently now? I hope so! Try these things out for a few weeks and if you need any support feel free to contact me, I am here to help. Let’s make your body smarter!

Taurus Mantra: “You are enough to manifest what you want”

Element: Earth

Quality: Fix

Ruling Planet: Venus

Eclipse season is here!

The New Moon in Taurus arrived with the first solar eclipse of the year, to remind us the importance of change. Twice a year we have eclipses, astronomical and astrological events that help us understand that we are part of something much bigger.

Eclipses accelerate the process of change. They generate an opportunity to align with your life purpose. The Universe pushes us to let go and make decisions.

So, fasten your seatbelt because we’re going to talk about these big changes!

But first let me remind you what happens once we enter  an eclipse portal. It’s a good time to go with the flow and not to set intentions. Eclipses have a really fun way of bringing chaos to a new lunar cycle. We can feel everything with intensity, as if something is pushing us.

This New Moon is taking place in Taurus, which rules over our finances. Taurus is the sign that dominates the art of making life blossom. It is a very practical sign, the craftsman of the zodiac, tenacious, persevering and a hard worker. Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet that governs love, beauty, art, romance and money. Therefore, Taurus is believed to be the most sensual of the zodiac: he/she is enchanted by any physical manifestation of comfort and luxury. Taurus has great power to materialize everything they want.

But the most complicated thing is that Taurus does not like changes, which is why this event will feel very strong, since one of the protagonists in this Eclipse is Uranus, the planet of the big changes. The signs that don’t like changes could become very anxious.

  • On this New Moon Solar Eclipse in Taurus we have to be extra aware of:

  • Our spending patterns during this time. Make a Financial plan.

  • Be extremely cautious with what you’re letting go of, what you’re selling and what you’re buying.

  • It brings a cleansing that you might not dare to do

  • Be sensual. A perfect time to relax!

  • Remember change happens for our spiritual evolution

  • Strengthen your self love

  • Be persistent

I share to you some tips to embrace these big changes:

  • Contact with fertile land

  • Outdoor activities

  • Yoga and flexibility exercises

  • Do activities that takes you out of the routine

  • Practice activities of enjoyment

  • Have contact with water, it will remind you to flow with the changes.

Do not worry about the eclipse season, just allow the Universe to show you the right path.

Remember:

Nothing changes until we step into our power!

Have a wonderful New Moon reset!

With Love

International Mother Earth Day

International Mother Earth Day

As Earth Day approaches I know I’m not alone in an overwhelming feeling of helplessness. Rather than a day of celebration, it feels necessary and appropriate to honor the grief that arises when I acknowledge the continued degradation of our living breathing earth.

It’s not a lack of information that keeps us so deeply addicted to the ways of consumerism that are destroying our mother. In this digital age we are overwhelmed by terrifying statistics, shocking images, and guilt inducing documentaries, and yet as a society we make no or little changes in our destructive habits.

Environmental scare tactics are not working, in fact destruction continues to escalate. It seems as though our species doesn’t have the motivation to make the necessary changes to save the beloved amazon, the vital marine populations, and the precious glaciers. We are told again and again that our house is on fire and yet we don’t seem to care. Why?

If fear cannot induce the transformation we desperately need for survival on Earth, what would incite change? Do we need even more graphic or even violent images of what’s to come? Or is it time to try a different approach that awakens the goodness of our human hearts?

It is difficult for people thousands of miles from the melting glaciers to feel the appropriate devastation of their loss. For many of us, the sorrow of disappearing lands and species seem both far away and overwhelmingly inexorable. We all, however, know the aching pain of losing what’s personal. We care deeply for what we ourselves have touched with our own two hands, for what we have known and loved intimately. This difficulty in creating lasting change is a true lack of intimacy and love with our living, breathing earth.

The natural world is a healing balm and refuge for us in an increasingly difficult world. The more we turn to her for care and tenderness the more we deepen our intimacy and love for the natural world. As we receive her love we in turn are shaped, transformed, nurtured into wholeness.

As the great poet Wendell Berry writes:

“When despair for the world grows in me

and I wake in the night at the least sound

in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,

I go and lie down where the wood drake

rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.

………For a time

I rest in the grace of the world and am free.”

Interbeing is a word coined by the Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh to describe the way that all life coexists. “The whole planet is one giant, living, breathing cell, with all its working parts linked in symbiosis,” he writes. When we have the experiential knowing of this truth that we inter-are, we understand deeply that our personal healing is dependent on a fully alive and thriving Earth. From an embodied and irrefutable understanding of this truth our actions easily align with restoring the vitality of our natural world. To me, this embodied experience of interbeing feels simply like love. It’s from the felt sense of wholeness, love and intimacy for the Earth that transformative action arises.

Our survival as a species now depends on our willingness to come back into full relationship with the larger organism of life. Not from guilt, fear or shame, but from acknowledging the source of our grief which is only love. When we love we listen. Not only with our minds but with our whole body with the same kind of listening presence that we would offer a beloved. It is a desperate time for us to lie ourselves down on the body of the earth and ask from our aching hearts, what do you need? It is time to grieve with and for the earth because from the depth of that grief we remember the immensity of our love. It is time to allow ourselves to weep so that from our tears seeds of hope can be planted.

The complex art of maintaining balance

It is time to illuminate and strengthen our relationships!  The Full Moon in Libra is already here, to remind us of the importance to see beyond the surface in order to experience healthy relationships or bonds in our lives.

Libra is the sign of relationships, so this event is a perfect time to review all our partnerships. But first, let’s remember what happens on a Full Moon. It is the time of the month to be aware of our emotional world. The Full Moon announces the end of a lunar cycle, it’s a moment of clarity to release the old, a culmination time. A powerful time for inner work, healing, shifting blocks and shedding the past. The Full Moon is also the ideal time to practice forgiveness and gratitude. No matter your personal Sun Sign, we are all affected by the astrological energy of each Full Moon.

Libra is a sign of the air element and everywhere it goes, it beautifies.  The mission of Libra is to bring balance and harmony in all our relationships. Librans are beings who have come to make the world a fairer place. But they have to be very careful because, in their search for peace and justice, they tend to say “yes” to everyone and depend on external approval.

This Full Moon in Libra will illuminate all our interpersonal relationships. The protagonist of this event is Pluto, who makes us face dark feelings kept inside because we are ashamed to express them. We can feel: rage, envy, jealousy. Low frequency energy that accumulates inside us when we repress it. It is important to take advantage of this moment to express our needs and our emotions because this Libran energy can make us remain silent in order to avoid conflicts.

It is important to learn that internal conflict is more dangerous than external conflict. When we sacrifice our truth so as not to inconvenience others, we are declaring war on ourselves.

Ask yourself:

Have I been thinking too much about others and neglecting my own needs?

Have I been too easily influenced or unable to decide for myself? (be honest with yourself)

Remember, this Full Moon is a time to find a balance between what you need and what you need to do for others in order to contribute to their happiness.

I would love to share a ritual of ho'oponopono for this full moon:

Ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. The word ho’oponopono roughly translates to “cause things to move back in balance” or to “make things right.”

So, it’s time to heal our relationships!

Write in your diary a list of all the people who have hurt you or with whom you currently have a conflict.  When you finish read each name and repeat the ho'oponopono prayer:

“I'm sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you.”

Then write a list with the names of the people you have hurt and repeat again the ho'oponopono prayer:

“I'm sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you.”

When you finish, read this affirmation three times:

“My emotions and needs are also important”

How do you feel now?

Perhaps you feel lighter, because forgiveness and gratitude frees us from a lot of weight.

**If you want to, you can share with me in the comments how you feel after doing this ritual. **

I wish that this Full Moon you give yourself permission to express your emotions!

Happy Full Moon in Libra!
